Winged Victory (1989) By Jim Davis
A Large WWII Limited Edition Print - "Winged Victory"
The original of this print was actually drawn by Jim Davis who was a rear gunner in the Allied Bomber Command. This is a very good Commemorative Art Piece for all those that served, died or returned having served in the Bomber Command (that was a major contributor to winning WWII).
The original of this piece was signed by the Three Air Marshall Commanders during the War. It is framed under glass and ready to hang.
This historical print is personally signed (bottom right corner below text) by the artist Jim Davis who painted it in honour of all who were killed and all who served in Bomber Command 1939-1945. It has been accepted by HM The Queen, HM The Queen Mother, HRH Prince Charles and ex US President Ronald Reagan for the White House, also by the Soviet Union for the Kremlin.
Artist Jim Davis who sadly passed away 18 March 2012 served as a Warrant Officer Lancaster Rear Gunner in Bomber Command during World War 2 and wrote an autobiography Winged Victory – the story of a Bomber Command Air Gunner. Jim was also the man who fought from 1980 – 1989 to found and build the International Air Monument now standing on Plymouth Hoe, where his ashes are now interred below.
