The History Of Communism: Communists In Indonesia (1973) By Leslie Palmier
Dr Palmier traces the history of the communists in Indonesia from the small group of Dutch Marxists in the second decade of this [20th] century, to the PKI or Indonesian Communist Party which was destroyed in the bloodshed of 1966. The author distinguishes three separate parties. The first was crushed by its abortive revolt in 1926, and was little influenced by Moscow. The second arose during the Indonesian revolution against the Dutch after the second world was, was largely directed by the Kremlin, and sealed its own fate by attempting a rebellion against the Indonesian nationalists in 1948
