Marvel Comics: G.I. Joe Vol. 1 #107 (1990)

 

No company has exerted a greater influence on the G.I. Joe mythos than Marvel Comics. Spearheaded by writer Larry Hama, the Marvel issues created the personalities and conflicts that have defined G.I. Joe in the ensuing decades. Without Marvel, there would be no Cobra! Holding the G.I. Joe license until 1994, Marvel defined G.I. Joe for a generation of young children and even introduced the first crossover with Hasbro's sister property, The Transformers.

 

The Marvel G.I. Joe A Real American Hero (ARAH) series ran for 155 issues from 1982 until 1994. The main writer and creator was Larry Hama. This series was the lifeblood of the G.I. Joe universe. (In 2010, IDW continued the ARAH series

 

"Enter the Night Creepers!" As Stalker and Storm Shadow continue their escape from last issue, Cobra Commander hires a new group, the Night Creeper ninjas, to kill Storm Shadow. Meanwhile, Scarlett (recovered out of her coma in issue 105) and Hawk confront one of the Jugglers, General Crowther, to learn of the whereabouts of Snake-Eyes, Stalker and Storm Shadow. As Scarlett catches up to Storm Shadow, she inadvertently stabs him with an ice pick as he begins to explain how he's going to rescue Snake-Eyes from the trap he was set up into. Written by Larry Hama, with art by Lee Weeks and Randy Emberlin. Cover by Lee Weeks. Cover price $1.00.
