Das Festungsbuch des Nicolas Person Wichtige Festungen Europas Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts. (1984) By Peter H. Meurer
The fortress book of Nicolas Person.
Important fortresses in Europe at the end of the 17th century.
In the middle of the Palatinate War of Succession, the Mainz engineer, cartographer, printer and copperplate engraver Nicolas Person (died 1710) published a textless atlas on the then-current war events in four episodes from around 1691.
The focus of the work 'Quotidiani Martis Labores' is the fortress belt from Upper Rhine to the mouth of the Rhine and Flanders.
