Atlantis: The Story of a German Surface Raider (1955) By Ulrich Mohr

 

An account of the exploits of the German armed merchant cruiser Atlantis (originally the Hansa Lina 'Goldenfels'), also known as 'Raider C' or 'Ship 16', which spent 622 days at sea from March 1940 until she was sunk by HMS Devonshire in the South Atlantic in November 1941, having herself accounted for 22 ships at a gross tonnage of over 145,000.

 

The author, Ulrich Mohr sailed with Admiral Bernhard Rogge and neither Rogge or Mohr were ever affiliated with the Nazi Party.
